1. What is Army ROTC?Ìý´¥ÌýBack to top
The mission of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is to recruit, retain, develop and commission the future officer leadership of the United States Army and motivate young people to be better citizens through support of local JROTC programs.
ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø's Army ROTC program is designed for full-time undergraduate or graduate students seeking an officer commission in the Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard.
2. How do I join?Ìý´¥ÌýBack to top
First, you must be accepted to the University (apply online). Campus tours can be scheduled through the ROTC Department or through the Office of Admissions at (888) 646-2738. After acceptance, schedule an interview with the recruiting operations officer (ROO) at (813) 257-3042. If you are already an enrolled ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø student, you can visit our office located on the second floor of the General Peter J. Schoomaker ROTC and Athletics Building, located on North B Street/Frederic H. Spaulding Drive.

ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø is a highly respected medium-sized private university located in the heart of Florida. ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø provides students with a rare combination of academic excellence and personalized attention. ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø is located near downtown Tampa and is less than 20 minutes away from the most popular beaches in Florida. Tampa Bay's cultural and social scene includes such attractions as Hyde Park, Ybor City, Sparkman Wharf, Busch Gardens, ZooTampa, Adventure Island, the Dalà Museum and much more. The Tampa Bay area is home to three professional sports teams including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Rays.
4. How does this program compare?Ìý´¥ÌýBack to top
ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø has one of the most outstanding ROTC programs in the nation, offering demonstrated excellence, adventure, challenge, travel, camaraderie and leadership opportunities. Alumni include three Medal of Honor recipients, former Army generals and distinguished members of the federal and state government.
Two ROTC cadets were awarded the Raytheon Trophy by the secretary of the Army in 1996 and 2005, distinguishing them as the most outstanding ROTC commissioned graduates in their respective commission years. ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø's Army ROTC program is ranked among the highest in the nation. We are the only non-military college with multiple Raytheon Award winners.
5. What about scholarships?Ìý´¥ÌýBack to top
The Army ROTC scholarship pays for 100% of tuition and fees, a $1,200 per-year book allowance and a stipend of $420 per month. Another excellent reason to choose ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø, is that the University provides grants to assist students with the costs of room and/or board. High school seniors can apply online for scholarships. Active-duty Army soldiers can apply for the Green to Gold scholarship at the Army ROTC website, Go Army.
6. What about my job after graduation?Ìý´¥ÌýBack to top
Graduates can request to serve on active duty or in the Army Reserve or National Guard and select from 16 different career choices. If you choose to serve in the Army Reserve or National Guard, we will even assist you in finding a job after college through the Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS). Find out more atÌý.
