The John P. Lowth Entrepreneurship Center, part of the Sykes College of Business at , this week selected the 2024-2025 cohort of its Spartan Incubator program. This dynamic program, designed to cultivate business ideas from recent graduates and early-stage community businesses, is set to begin on Aug. 20, offering participants the opportunity to transform their entrepreneurial visions into reality.
The Spartan Incubator is a live lab environment that fosters business growth and personal development. The program leverages the expertise of University of Tampa faculty and offers personalized coaching and connections within a top-ranked entrepreneurship program to provide business founders with the tools and support needed to refine their ideas, sharpen their pitches and build successful businesses.
This year's selection process introduced a twist inspired by the popular TV show The Voice. Applicants were given five minutes to pitch their ideas in the Lowth Center’s Pitch Room, followed by three minutes of Q&A from mentor coaches. Then, 12 founders were picked based on their potential to innovate and impact the entrepreneurial landscape.
The 2024-2025 Spartan Incubator Cohort:

Josh Ray, new venture advisor, added, “The level of innovation and drive we’ve seen during the selection process is truly inspiring. I’m looking forward to working closely with these founders as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of building their businesses.”
The Spartan Incubator program continues to cement its place as a leading force in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, providing a nurturing environment where early-stage businesses can thrive. The program’s blend of expert guidance, tailored coaching and practical experience prepares participants not just to launch a business, but to lead it with confidence and vision.
