Scholarships, Awards and Financial Aid
- Financial Aid that typically transfers may include the Pell Grant, EASE, FSAG, Bright Futures Scholarships, Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized loans, and Parent PLUS loans.
- ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø Exchange Programs and ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø Partner Programs do allow for the transfer of institutional aid (ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø merit scholarships, departmental scholarships and ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø need-based grants).
- Affiliate Programs may or may not allow the transfer of institutional aid. Please meet with a financial aid counselor to verify the parameters for your specific program.
RECOMMENDED STUDY ABROAD SCHOLARSHIPS
It is important to budgetÌýwisely and plan for how to afford to live abroad. Part of this process may include applying for study abroad scholarships. Several foundations and affiliates offer funding for study abroad. Below you can find a list of scholarships we recommend.

University of Tampa Scholarships

Timothy M. Smith Inspiration Through Exploration Award
The Timothy M. Smith Inspiration Through Exploration Award will be presented annually to an Honors Program student. The award provides a talented student author with an opportunity to travel and find inspiration.

The Philip Quinn Education Abroad Financial Award
This award has been established to financially assist at least one criminology and criminal justice major each year to participate in a travel abroad course.

Boren invests in linguistic and cultural knowledge for aspiring federal government employees.

Bridging awards scholarships to US undergraduate students to study for one semester or academic year in Japan.

An intensive overseas language and cultural immersion program for American students enrolled at US colleges and universities. Students spend 8 to 10 weeks abroad studying one of 15 critical languages.

Freeman provides scholarships for US undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia.

Fulbright offers research, study and teaching opportunities in over 140 countries to recent undergraduates and graduate students.

The Fund for Education Abroad offers scholarships to US citizens and permanent residents who plan to participate in an accredited study abroad program for undergraduate credit.

Open to undergraduate US citizens who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.

The Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for child dependents of active-duty service members to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs.
- Applicants do not have to be Phi Kappa Phi members for this scholarship.
Diverse Student Scholarships

DIWC’s mission is to inspire, encourage and promote opportunities for women of color to travel abroad, experience different cultures and broaden their horizons beyond the US.

Annually 10 exceptional student leaders are selected for a transformative eight-week summer internship program in Dublin, Ireland, where they will draw inspiration from the legacies of two remarkable social just leaders: Frederick Douglass and Daniel O’Connell.
