Domain: Patient-Centered Practice Knowledge (PCPK) Graduates will be able to recognize healthy versus ill patients in the context of the patients鈥 lives and determine the stage of illness 鈥 acute, at risk of illness (emerging), or chronic. Graduates will demonstrate the ability to utilize up-to-date scientific evidence to inform clinical reasoning and clinical judgment |
The graduate will be able to: |
PCPK 1- Recognize normal and abnormal health states. |
PCPK 2- Discern between acute, chronic, and emerging disease states. |
PCPK 3- Successfully complete a patient-centered medical history. |
PCPK 4- Competently perform a pertinent physical exam. |
PCPK 5- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory, radiologic, and other diagnostic studies. |
PCPK 6- Demonstrate higher-order critical thinking and medical decision-making skills to develop a comprehensive list of differential diagnosis and correctly identify the final diagnosis. |
PCPK 7- Using evidence-based medicine and/or clinical practice guidelines, formulate an appropriate management/treatment plan. |

Domain: Society and Population Health (SPH) Graduates will be able to recognize and understand that the influences of the larger community may affect the health of patients and integrate knowledge of social determinants of health into care decisions. |
The graduate will be able to: |
SPH 1- Recognize the impact of cultural norms and population-level determinants (socioeconomic, environmental, etc.) on the health of individuals and communities being served. |
SPH 2- Identify the effect of basic science (biology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and genetics) on patient health, integrating this knowledge into informed care decisions. |
SPH 3- Describe the role of healthcare disparities in causing illness. |
SPH 4- Reflect on personal and professional limitations in providing care. |
SPH 5- Apply the fundamental principles of epidemiology. |

Domain: Health Literacy and Communication (HLC) Graduates will be able to communicate with patients as partners who engage in shared decision-making and who communicate, interpret, and express themselves as individuals with unique personal, cultural, and social values. |

Domain: Interprofessional Collaborative Practice and Leadership Graduates will be able to recognize that the patient is at the center of all healthcare decisions and to partner with the patient to define the patient鈥檚 healthcare goals. |

PLAHC 3- Demonstrate the professionalism expected of a medical provider by: dressing professionally, wearing an appropriate name tag, washing hands, respecting patient modesty, asking permission to examine the patient, communicating in a polite tone and manner, and conveying concern/compassion. |

Domain: Health Care Finance and Systems Graduates will be able to articulate the essential aspects of value-based health care and apply this understanding to the delivery of safe and quality care. |
