What are student conduct sanctions?
Sanctions are categorized into standard disciplinary sanctions and additional disciplinary sanctions. Standard disciplinary sanctions are required for each violation of the Student Code of Conduct. Standard disciplinary sanctions are progressive in nature and are relative to the type and severity of violation as well as the prior conduct history of a student. Standard disciplinary sanctions include the following: Disciplinary Reprimand, Disciplinary Probation, Deferred Suspension, Suspension and Expulsion. Additional disciplinary sanctions may be applied along with a standard disciplinary sanction. Additional disciplinary sanctions are educationally focused and typically relate to the type of violation of the Student Code of Conduct.
What is the purpose of student conduct sanctions?
Student Conduct sanctions are intended to be developmental and educational in scope and are determined at the sole discretion of the University.
What are interim actions and are they different from sanctions?
Interim actions are provisional actions taken by the Office of Student Conduct prior to the adjudication of a student conduct violation and are different from sanctions. Interim actions can include but are not limited to interim suspension, interim no-contact orders and interim residence hall restrictions. Interim actions are assigned by the Office of Student Conduct in its sole discretion prior to the completion of a student conduct process. In most cases, interim actions are not assigned. Interim actions are different from sanctions as they are temporary and are no longer applicable once the student has completed their student conduct process and received sanctions within their outcome letter. Where can students find directions and attachments for sanctions?
After the conclusion of an incident review meeting, a student is sent an outcome letter via Advocate to their University email. If found responsible, the student is assigned University sanctions based on the type and severity of the violation(s) of policy. To access your letters in Advocate, log into MyÌÒñ«ÉçÇøampa and click on the Advocate-Simplicity chiclet. On the left-hand side, click on Letters. To view assigned University sanctions, select the Notice of Student Conduct Outcome Letter. Within the Outcome Letter, the sanctions, sanction descriptions and deadlines can be found. If any sanctions require further instructions or relevant attachments, those can be found at the bottom of the letter underneath the Attachment(s) section.
When are sanctions due to be completed?
Students should review their outcome letter to determine when their sanctions are due to be completed. Typically, sanctions are to be completed between one week and one month from the receipt of an outcome letter.

How to upload submissions for sanctions in Advocate.
To access a student account in Advocate, log into MyÌÒñ«ÉçÇøampa and click on the Advocate-Simplicity chiclet. On the left-hand side, click on Conduct. Then, click on Sanctions from the top ribbon under Conduct. Select the sanction that requires submission. On the right-hand side, there is a button that says, Upload Document. Before submitting, ensure that you are uploading the correct document and that all document requirements have been met. Repeat the above steps for any sanction submissions. If a student has any questions or concerns, call the Office of Student Conduct at (813) 258-7228.
How to pay prevention fees and conduct fines.
All prevention fees must be paid in person at the Bursar's Office, located in Plant Hall Room 428. A prevention fee can be paid with cash, money order, personal check or credit card. Prevention fees cannot be paid online.
If a student is no longer on campus, a check or money order must be sent to the Bursar’s Office. If paying by mail, it is extremely important to indicate that you are paying a prevention fee for the Office of Student Conduct to avoid your payment being processed differently.

How to contact Counseling Services regarding IMPACT surveys and appointments.
To contact Counseling Services in reference to a scheduled or requested appointment, or information regarding a IMPACT survey, please call the department directly at (813) 257-3466. The Office of Student Conduct does not have access to information provided to Counseling Services.
