The College of Arts and LettersÌý(CAL) is a place where theory meets practice and expression meets experience. Home to 24 degree programs, 11 minors, and aÌýMaster of Arts in Professional CommunicationÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýMaster of Arts in Social and Emerging Media, CAL houses eight collaborative and innovative academic departments. Guided by faculty who are talented artists and distinguished scholars, students come to CAL to study everything from fleeting 140-character Tweets and Snaps to enduring works of literature.

Student Experience

Students in the College of Arts and Letters learn by doing and gain practical experience by working on air and online at ÌÒñ«ÉçÇøTV: Spartan Television, WÌÒñ«ÉçÇøT the campus radio station, the student newspaper,ÌýThe Minaret, or one of the many literary publications produced by the University of Tampa Press. The College leverages its downtown location to connect with the vibrant Tampa Bay arts and business communities and provides easy access to thousands of internship sites in everything from advertising and public relations to museum studies.

From day one, students in the College of Arts and Letters have access to world-class faculty, professional-grade facilities, and cutting-edge technology. Each year the College puts on hundreds of theatre productions, dance performances, music recitals, film screenings, lectures and art exhibits. It is a place where creativity, innovation and community thrive.

Ferman Center for the Arts

°Õ³ó±ðÌýFerman Center for the Arts, which opened Spring 2021, provides a creative and transformative space for the fine and performing arts. Students studying music, art, design, speech, theatre, dance, communication, philosophy and film will enjoy four-stories of a visual and acoustic showcase. The building offers sound-insulated professional spaces, flexible performance staging, collaborative practice studios, study spaces and access to faculty offices. Career Opportunities

CAL alumni have gone on to work for a variety of industries and are busy helping to create new ones as well. A number have also gone on to further their studies in some of the nation’s most prestigious graduate schools.
