ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø is committed to the development of each student to become a productive and responsible citizen, and its mission is to completely engage students in an educational environment that prepares them for careers, graduate and professional education, and lifelong learning. Methods used to evaluate student success include reviewing course completion and retention rates, national competency and state licensing examination results, graduate school and job placement rates, and program assessment. The University is committed to excellence on every front, dissatisfied with any other outcome than making gains each year, regardless of area.

ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø is made up of a community of achievers, from student researchers working to illuminate multiple sclerosis research to a student athlete succeeding in competitive stand up paddle boarding to a student techy who wants to increase awareness and interest in her peers for the bountiful careers in management information systems. °Õ³ó±ðÌýÌÒñ«ÉçÇø Life webpageÌýis updated weekly with new insights into the academic and personal pursuits of ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø’s high-achieving student body. °Õ³ó±ðÌýÌÒñ«ÉçÇø JournalÌýis a full-color magazine that connects the University to its alumni, parents and friends. It is published three times a year and contains features, profiles and news about such topics as new developments at the University, alumni achievements, faculty research, athletic success and student activities. In addition, hear from students in their own words onÌý.

ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø’s Career Services helps students obtain the knowledge, skills, practical experience and contacts they need to land a great job or get admitted to graduate school. Students’ success in this area is measured in the annual post-graduate survey, theÌýFirst Destination Report, which tracks students’ reported success in achieving their post-graduate goals.

ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø works to improve critical thinking and problem solving skills of its students, improve communication abilities in writing and public speaking, and attain practical skills in research, quantitative literacy and creative thinking. This is done through science-based research, creative artistic production and high qualityÌýinternship experiences. The success of these endeavors is reflected in the many honors and accolades earned by the University, as well as the host of accreditations for its many programs and colleges. ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø’s holistic approach to retention and persistence means that every area works toward supporting students in their academic journey. °Õ³ó±ðÌýAcademic Success Center, the Office of theÌýDean of StudentsÌýand theÌýOffice of Diversity, Equity and InclusionÌýare just a few of the many ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø units that provide curricular and co-curricular services and programs to this end. In addition, a variety of offices includingÌýBaccalaureate ExperienceÌýand the Office of Retention Initiatives provide support for student success and persistence initiatives.

The academic success within each of the University’s four colleges is outlined in several publications, includingÌýPresident Ronald Vaughn’s annual reportÌýand theÌýSykes College of Business Annual Report. In addition, the achievements of the University are regularly shared with the University community and public throughÌýnews releasesÌýposted to the ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø website and distributed to local and national media organizations. When a media outlet reports on the University’s success, those news articles or videos are culled on ÌÒñ«ÉçÇø’sÌýMedia CoverageÌý±è²¹²µ±ð.
